Must Have Emergency Supplies

If you are planning on travelling, you should not only think about the pleasures and enjoyment.  You should also consider the possibility of encountering accidents or illnesses as anything might happen, even the most unexpected.  Being prepared and bringing the appropriate emergency supplies or emergency kit can lessen the possibility of stress and hassles.

What you need to bring depends on your destination and the nature of the travel. No matter where you go, there should be the basic emergency supplies.  Say you will be joining a mountain climbing, there are  more medical supplies needed compared to going on a beach vacation and  other relaxing vacations.  Below are some of the must haves.

Prescription Medicines .  If you are under medication, you should bring  complete supplies of all the medicines that you need to take during your entire travel. You should also bring the prescription from the doctor and also ask for their generic names.  If recommended, undergo vaccinations or immunizations as well. You should also ask advice from a doctor whether there is a need for certain prescriptions supposed you will be visiting a specific country.

Common Medicines . These are the over the counter medicines which include pain relievers, lozenges, decongestants, antihistamines, anti diarrhea, antacids, cough syrup, anti fever and others. You may also include medication for motion sickness.

First Aid Kit.  No one can tell whether you will encounter sunburn, sprain, sprain or eye irritation.  This includes eye drops, antibacterial ointments, wipes, cream, oral rehydration salt, gauze and bandages.

Additional Supplies .  If you are going to a camping or hiking, you may consider bringing insect repellant or mosquito net.  If you are going to a beach or lake vacation, bring sunblock or sunscreen. You may also consider bringing an umbrella if you anticipate being outdoors as you may take a long walk or when you go for sight seeing. Never ever forget to bring clean and safe drinking water.
